LRBT Eye Hospital with its partner SO Pakistan conducted a Special Olympics Opening Eyes Train the Trainer Program at Luxus Grand Hotels, Lahore on 22nd & 23rd November 2022. At this event, Optometrists/Ophthalmologists, health professionals from LRBT & Lions Liberty Lahore, and some private practitioners were invited to become certified Clinical Directors (CD) so that they can conduct screening events for special needs athletes. On day 1, the session was conducted by Dr Mahwash Khan Head of Community Eye Care Dept. (LRBT) and Regional Advisor and Master Trainer Opening Eyes. On day 2, the participants led the Opening Eyes Screening at Society School of Child Development, where they screened more than 25 athletes. Opening Eyes focuses on the quality of life for Special Olympics athletes by optimizing their vision, eye health, and visual skills through quality eye care.
