Despite the significant reduction in the Prevalence of Blindness there are:
2 Million
People
Blind in Pakistan
190,000
People
Become blind every year
20 Million
People
People have impaired vision
- Government spending on health is unlikely to increase
- Due to inflation in energy and food people living around the poverty line (already 2/3rds of the population) will increase significantly.
- So it is up to Civil Society organisations like LRBT to not only maintain their existing services but to expand them
Local Funding/International Donors
LRBT spent Rs. 1.43 Billion (CAD 11.65 million) in 2019-20 for providing high quality eye care services to the poor absolutely free. This was made possible by the generosity of our local and foreign donors. 83 % of our donations are raised domestically from a wide variety of people ranging from individuals to large corporations. 17 % comes from outside the country from large international NGOs such as Sight Savers, the Graham Layton Trust, multinational corporations and individuals.
With patient volume growing by double digits we require Rs 1.6 Billion ($ 6.2 Million) in 2020/21 to be able to continue our programs to roll back the growth of curable blindness.
Help us to keep this beacon shining for the poor and the destitute. – Give the Gift of Sight
