Seven-year-old Muhammad Hassan is the center of his parents’ world!

After losing a child, they held on to Hassan even more tightly. He became their comfort, their joy, their way forward. In his laughter, they found a reason to smile again. Until, slowly, that light began to slip away.

At first, it was easy to miss. Hassan would pause a little longer than usual, struggle to recognize faces, or hesitate while walking. The playful, carefree child his parents knew was becoming quieter, more unsure.

When they finally sought medical help, the news was shocking. Hassan had cataracts in both eyes. Soon after, they learned he also had glaucoma – a condition that could take away his sight permanently if left untreated. To his parents, the world seemed to crumble beneath them.

Hassan’s father works as a mechanic, earning just enough to keep the household running. They live in a small rented home, where even daily expenses are a constant balancing act. The cost of multiple surgeries and treatment was simply out of reach. But the hardest part wasn’t the financial strain – it was the fear.

His mother spent countless nights awake, watching her son sleep, wondering what his future would look like if the world around him went dark. She had already known loss once before. She couldn’t bear the thought of losing her son’s light too. Just when hope felt like it was slipping away, they found their way to LRBT.

At LRBT Korangi, Hassan was examined with care and urgency. The doctors reassured the family and quickly began his treatment plan. Through the generosity of donors, Hassan received the surgeries he needed, completely free of cost.

Hassan is slowly beginning to see again. There’s more confidence in his steps, more certainty in his movements, and a spark returning to his eyes. He’s rediscovering the simple joys of childhood.  And for his parents, it feels like they’ve been given their son back.

Hassan’s story marks an incredible milestone as LRBT’s 62 millionth patient!

Behind every number lies a story far deeper than statistics – a family who dared to hope again, a mother whose prayers were answered, and a child now able to face his future with clear sight. At LRBT, stories like Hassan’s remind us that restoring vision is never just about eyes; it’s about restoring life and joy.
